Appendix C – Usability Survey Analysis

Appendix C

Usability Survey Analysis

The survey method used to collect the information was made available only through an online network of friends on Facebook. The survey consists of eight multiple-choice questions and one open-ended response. The survey rate of response was a 100% with 11 surveys online and returned.

In the survey, 64% of respondents found the information they were looking for and 81% found the graphic design of the buttons easily recognizable. Out of the responses, 64% did not find themselves clicking on other elements on the pages that did not work. However, after viewing the Web site, 64% felt somewhat persuaded to visit SCFP facilities, and 18% felt very much persuaded.  55% said that the visual design of the Web site for SCFP did enhance their experience and impression of the business.

Aspects that Require Improvement after Testing

Many of the respondents found the Web site interesting. However, the Web site needs more content on the services page for potential patients, which is critical information.  The site needs to provided a list of medical services. The overall design layout is simplistic and straight to the point. The easily recognized buttons help users with navigation. The user-centered design is great. Respondents said that the photographs on the home page convey an old Western and Eastern views of medicine. The content is not overloaded with text and the information presented is what users are looking for. The organization of the site’s information can be accessed within 3 quick clicks and the consistency stay the same on every page. The graphic design keeps the site somewhat interesting, which is good but the content is not informative enough. Visitors want add more detailed information about practices and services. Some respondents said that the site needs animation and the pictures do not show much meaning. The information layout is well-organized except for the “Services” section. However, respondents complained about the site seeming to be too centered; meaning that there is too much empty blue space on the sides. Also, respondents thought the site was made for advertising, and the Web site should add flash or animation images to attract viewers.

Web Testing: Usability Survey

Usability Testing

For my final project in Web design, I am gathering a minimum of 10 usability survey responses.  The Web site I built needs to be simple and so easy that it “doesn’t make you think.”

The Web site is available by clicking here.
